چکیده
Background: Urinary tract Infections caused by multidrug resistant uropathogens have become a significant global public health problem with Nigeria being no exception.
Objective: This study is aimed at profiling and curing the plasmids of selected isolated from patients urinary infection in tertiary hospital Calabar, Nigeria.
Methodology: Isolates were obtained urine samples using standard microbiological techniques. Multidrug bacterial isolates then for plasmid DNA analysis curing.
Results: The revealed that E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa Proteus mirabilis to antibiotics tested. extracted showed presence TEM, SHV CTX-M genes sizes 400-600bp, 300bp 500-800bp, respectively. All possessed while few had TEM genes. Cells subjected was achieved 200-300μl ethidium bromide.
Conclusion: reduction percentage resistance due observed this suggests plasmid-mediated. Antibiogram monitoring mediated are necessary proper management infections.

Prevalence of plasmid-encoded carbapenemases in multi-drug resistant Escherichia coli from patients with urinary tract infection in northern Iran
Objective(s): Resistance to carbapenems as the last line for controlling resistant bacteria is increasing due to production of carbapenemase. The aim of this study was to detect the plasmid-encoded carbapenemases using phenotypic methods and multiplex PCR among the multi-drug resistant (MDR) isolates from patients with urinary tract infection (UTI) in northern Iran.<br...

Abstract Background and Objectives: Efflux pumps are one of the main mechanisms for antibiotic resistance in Escherichia coli strains. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between 5 different efflux pump genes; acrA, acrB, emrA, emrB and mdtk and fluoroquinolone resistance in E.coli Isolated from patients with urinary tract infections in Qom. Methods: In this descriptive cr...

BACKGROUND Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common bacterial infection during pregnancy and a significant cause of perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality. The causative bacteria have remained virtually the same although with variations in individual prevalence. There has been an increasing resistance by these bacteria to the commonly available antibiotics. OBJECTIVES To determine th...

Background and purpose: Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) have recently emerged as major causes of urinary tract infection (UTI). The aims of this study were to determine antibiotic susceptibility of S. aureus isolated from UTI and to detect the presence of mecA (causing resistance to methicillin) and SCCmec types. Materials and methods: In this cross sectional study, 44 S. au...

Introduction: Urinary tract infection is a common bacterial infection in childhood . Approximately 3-5% of girls and 1% of boys acquire a urinary tract infection (UTI). The management of UTI is complicated by the increasing prevalence of antibiotic- resistant strains and over the - counter antibiotics empiric therapy with antibiotics such as ampicillin , amoxicillin and cotrimoxazo...
